All About the DermInfusions Fill + Repair Serum

Our dermatologist founder Dennis Gross, MD, got his start as a researcher, so it’s no surprise that his happy place (outside of seeing patients in his office) is the lab, working on new product innovations.

Dr. Gross is constantly figuring out ways to translate the technology available in his practice to skincare products that are safe enough for the non-physician to use at home while also delivering results impressive enough to make a person wonder if they need a dermatologist in the first place. (Spoiler alert: They do because skin cancer, for one thing.)

We’re excited to present his latest breakthrough — Dr. Dennis Gross DermInfusions Fill + Repair Serum, a cushiony gel that imparts an instant radiance to your complexion while it works over time to remedy skin crepiness and sag.

What makes DermInfusions Fill + Repair Serum unique?

The first product in our brand-new DermInfusions line, Fill + Repair Serum may have you thinking twice before booking a dermatologist appointment for your injectables fix. We aren’t kidding. Consistent use of this high-performance topical will help plump, fill, and firm your skin, fading the look of fine lines and boosting the appearance of sagging skin. While it may feel lightweight, this serum is packed with some of skincare’s heaviest hitters — starting with hyaluronic acid

As all skincare fans know, hyaluronic acid is an absolute moisture magnet, pulling water from the surrounding air into tissue and plumping it up. (It’s also hugely popular in doctor-administered injectables as well, where it spreads out above, below, and laterally from the injection site beneath the skin to provide three-dimensional filling.) The new DermInfusions Fill + Repair Serum is made with four different weights of hyaluronic acid molecules. Believe us when we say this is not typical.

Most skincare products usually only contain hyaluronic acid molecules in a single weight. The weight corresponds to the molecule’s size. The four differing sizes mean that the hyaluronic acid molecules in DermInfusions Fill + Repair Serum absorb into separate layers of the skin, allowing for more comprehensive, multi-dimensional plumping that’s akin to the above, below, and lateral fill of a hyaluronic acid filler administered via syringe.

This groundbreaking new product also boasts a blend of four collagen-building peptides for even more skin firming and lifting. And it’s made with antioxidant niacinamide (also known as vitamin B3) and ectoin, a stress-protection molecule. Those latter two ingredients repair and reinforce the moisture barrier, so that all the plumping, firming goodness you’ve added to your skin via the rest of the serum stay locked inside, as opposed to evaporating into the air.

What are Micelles & How Our MicroCelle Ingredient Delivery System Works

It's already unique to have a skincare formulation that combines all these actives in one place. But what really makes our new Dr. Dennis Gross DermInfusions Fill + Repair Serum stand out is its first-of-its-kind MicroCelle ingredient delivery system. You probably already think of a drop of water as pretty tiny.

Like, how much smaller could it get?

Well, with the help of micelles, the answer is much, much smaller. Micelles are microscopic molecules that can carry other molecules inside them. They reduce the surface tension on those other molecules (like water), which shrinks them instantly. (Honestly, it’s not unlike the Pym-particles that give Ant-Man his ability to decrease and increase in size.)

Micelles are typically used in cleansers (you’re probably familiar with micellar water). But our DermInfusions Fill + Repair Serum is the first time the technology has been employed as a delivery system. By using micelle-based MicroCelle Delivery, the plumping, filling ingredients in this new serum are able to go much deeper into skin. As a result, they can deliver improvements that are that much more dramatic than other topical skincare also promising similar results.

What are the benefits of DermInfusions Fill + Repair Serum?

If you apply DermInfusions Fill + Repair Serum to your face every day (morning or night — dealer’s choice), you’ll see immediate improvement in your moisture barrier and statistically significant improvements in your skin’s firmness, its level of plumpness, and the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles one, two, and four weeks after daily use.

That’s not our opinion — that’s fact. The data we can base those claims on comes from a four-week clinical study we did with 34 subjects between the ages of 36 and 64.
